A therapist who believes there is not just “one way” to do treatment, I use an integrative approach to helping my patients.
I am a practitioner with a unique perspective having a background ranging from business to mental health. Counseling and psychotherapy are ‘teamwork’ approaches to problem solving that should be as unique as the persons seeking help.
I am an optimistic clinician, who is confident in the effectiveness of psychotherapy. This work can assist everyone in achieving satisfaction in relationships with others including those at work, with family and friends. There is no point for folks to feel worthless, unfulfilled, conflicted, and/or dispassionate about their lives.
In addition to having a Ph.D. from NYU, and being a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I am also a board certified diplomat (BCD) and certified sex therapist (CST). It has been my honor to teach as an Adjunct Professor in the SUNY Stony Brook School of Social Welfare’s M.S.W. program. As a seasoned lecturer, I have provided workshops and educational programs for many NY area organizations.
My practice has been featured in The New York Times & Newsday, and on HBO, Lifetime and Oxygen.
Specialties: While I have a diverse background ranging from mental health treatment to supervision, I have extensive expertise in the following areas: couples/relationship problems, sexual issues/dysfunctions, eating disorders/body image issues, personality disorders, conflict resolution, GLBTQIA+ issues, parenting conflict, executive coaching.
